Attractions in Yangon

Yangon is the commercial city of Myanmar and  probably the first city you will reach when you visit Myanmar. Colonial Buildings, Powerful Pagodas and hospitable locals might be the main attractions in Yangon. Here are a few attractions you should visit in Yangon.

Sule Pagoda

It is one of the shrines with Buddha’s sacred hair-relic and situated at the center of the city.

Bogyoke Market

If you just take a walk for 15 minutes from Sule pagoda, you will reach the Bogyoke market where you can buy Myanmar traditional handicrafts, Jewelleries, and some antique stuff.

It is one of the historic landmarks where General Aung San and 6 cabinet members were assassinated. It will take around 25 minutes if you walk from downtown.

Bogyoke Museum

It is a colonial-era villa where General Aung San lived before the assassination. It is a bit far from downtown so I recommend taking a taxi.

Kantawgyi Garden

You can enjoy your evening with a cup of tea or having dinner at the restaurants or cafes in the garden. You can also see Karaweik, a building in the shape of a mythical bird.

Shwedagon Pagoda

It is constructed 2600 years ago with Buddha’s sacred hair- relic inside. It is best to go to Shwedagon Pagoda in the early morning or late evening.

National Races Village

If you can’t go everywhere in Myanmar, you should go there and see famous landmarks of Myanmar because it has the sampling building of each region in Myanmar.

Yangon Night Life

If you are a street food lover, you should go china town where you can see Chinese food, Myanmar food and also BBQ and grills. Or you can chill your evening on the cruise at Yangon River. You can check our website;
